People often say too much of anything is bad. The same is true for technology. Although many great things come from it such as medical discoveries and new ways to learn, bad things such as technology overuse, misuse of social media and academic dishonesty can also arise from it. The research I performed in preparation to complete The Digital Citizenship assignment in ED 505 really helped me to identify things that could be potentially harmful while gathering information on the Internet. I was able to use this information to educate my students before I turned them loose to create their technology products and coordinate research on their own. The highlights of my Glogster informed the students about the consequences of plagiarizing, the consequences of cyber-bullying and technology overuse as well as privacy and copyright laws.
